Eye muscle surgery, often known as strabismus surgery, corrects mismatched eyes after previous therapies have failed. By cutting or folding the muscles, your surgeon may shorten or tighten them. Your surgeon could sometimes manipulate the muscle to make it looser. Surgery on the eye muscles is used to cure crossed eyes (strabismus). This technique positions your eyes so that they are centered and may cooperate by either making your eye muscles tighter or looser. After surgery, you'll proceed to a recovery area. Until you return home, your team will continue to keep an eye on your vital signs.
